So I had an exciting day on saturday. I went to see mom and dad, and found dad on the front lawn with that old yellow raft that we used to paddle around Table Rock Lake in. Evidentally he and Jason had gone up the canyon for a nice little float down Provo River. I gave him a hard time for not inviting me, and next thing I knew, he sent me home to change my clothes and get some sunscreen and towels.
We got up to vivian park, and tons of people were already there. So we had to park my car up the road. Then we took the van up the road a couple miles, and got in the water. It was not as hot up the canyon and on the water, so it felt pretty nice. But then there were some crazy people camping along the river, and I guess about 4 of them got a little bored. They were standing in the water with some super soakers, and decided to soak everyone they could. Dad and I were in this nice clearing, away from all the other people floating down the river, so we were great targets. We got SOAKED. I was freezing for about 10 minutes, but then the wind dried us pretty fast.
I'm lucky that dad is so good at this boating thing. He'd just tell me when to paddle, and I'd go for it. There was this raft with 4 idiot guys in it, and I swear that they hit every obstical that came into view. Even when it seemed that you would have to go out of your way to hit it. So we had fun trying to avoid them for awhile. We finally lost them when we went under some train tracks and they got themselves caught on the bridge. Brilliant! So at least we were able to avoid too much trouble along the way. We did hit a rock or 2 here and there. Probably my fault. :)
Then, right when we were about to get out of the raft, we paddled to the side of the river, and dad made a heroic dive out of the raft to stop it before it hit a nice big rock. But somehow, the raft didn't stop quite fast enough. I had to wedge my paddle between the raft and the rock, and I turned around in time to see dad lying down in the water. Not a good place for a nap. But he caught the raft before it took off with me downstream! Yay! Way to go dad! :)
Sadly enough, I didn't take my camera... so no pictures. But it was quite a blast! Thanks dad!

Chelsea, I LOVE you! You say the funniest things sometimes. The way you told that story, it didn't even need picures because I can totally see Dad's heroic dive. What fun!
Aaww...a daddy daughter date! I LOVE those! That's hilarious though. I can totally see Doug floating in the water, haha. Sounds like you guys had fun!
